Mental Health Resources for Event Professionals

In today’s fast-paced world, mental health is a paramount priority to maintain in one’s personal and professional life. Fatigued mental health leads to burnout, and burnout makes it nearly impossible to thrive in your career or private relationships.

Many event professionals are experiencing burnout as a result of poor work/life balance amidst the demands of the changing industry. In support of World Mental Health Day, we curated a list of mental health tips and resources to help you avoid burnout and focus on the work you love to do.

The current state of mental health in the event industry

The changing event industry, high rates of voluntary attrition, and the demands of adjusting to a new normal have taken a toll on many event professionals.

According to PCMA’s COVID-19 Recovery Dashboard Survey, more than 1/3 of planners and 3 out of 10 suppliers say they are anxious or burned out. It’s such a vast problem that 4 out of 10 planners also reported that they added content related to workplace mental health and work/life balance to their educational programs. They’ve also changed the design of their in-person events to add more wellness elements.

It is clear that event professionals need a healthier work/life balance that is easy to maintain. Let’s look at how to do so.
