This role is responsible for managing master strategies and logistics for key signature events, particularly a large innovation forum in October and a specialized tech event in March. The successful candidate will step into an active planning cycle, continuing momentum and ensuring flawless execution.
Role will require 2 days in person in the Newport Beach Office.

Contract position for an Event Manager to provide critical support during a maternity leave. This role is responsible for managing master strategies and logistics for key signature events, particularly a large innovation forum in October and a specialized tech event in March. Engagement Details
Contract Dates: July 2025 to January 23rd, 2026
Estimated Hours: 35 Hours per Week (Subject to higher hours during event weeks)
In Office: Monday & Wednesday; one additional per week optional
Client: Southern California based non-profit innovation ecosystem, connecting capital, resources, and people to advance technology and medtech ventures. With a focus on job creation and business acceleration, they host several annual signature events and maintain partnerships with numerous organizations.
Responsibilities:
As the Event Manager you will work on:
Develop and implement event strategy and project plans for assigned events
Oversee event budgets, revenue targets, and expense tracking
Coordinate content planning, speaker engagement, and committee collaboration
Drive sponsor activations in partnership with internal teams
Work with marketing to promote events and drive ticket sales
Manage vendor relationships and event logistics (AV, catering, hotel, etc.)
Utilize Cvent for registration and data management (knowledge helpful but not required)
Ensure continuity of event planning during maternity leave coverage
