The Safety Dance

As the U.S. reopens, we’re exploring how to prepare for the health and safety challenges the meetings and events industry will face in response to COVID-19.

COVID-19 is presenting risks directly related to medical health, and it’s our duty to stay informed about the latest health and safety guidelines and best practices recommended by the CDC and other sources such as the PSAV MeetSAFE playbook.

With all of these new resources and guidelines coming out, there are a number of topics we need to discuss as meetings and event professionals. How do we maintain a human connection centered culture for events with the number of health policies and guidelines made to keep us safe?

Here are some of the Health and Safety topics we explored during this event:

  • How will we approach communication and information sharing with different stakeholders?

  • How will the culture of meetings and events change and how can we provide inclusion for it all?

  • What should our main transportation concerns?

  • Considering the lack of data we hold, how will hotel sourcing and contracting change?

  • What new positions might come out of these guidelines?

  • How might all of these changes help to evolve the meetings and events industry?

  • How will these health guidelines impact risk management onsite?

We had a great conversation about navigating what the future of live events look like in a COVID era. Learn more about the Revive + Innovate series here.
