They are seasoned experts when it comes to member engagement and needs, staying up to date on industry trends and member statistics to continuously adjust benefits. Individuals in these roles are easily able to understand the intersection of member services with the rest of the organization.
Managers direct member communications and mailings, lead day-to-day member financial management, spearhead the measurement and reporting of all membership activities, and are able to decipher shifting member data for status, renewals, retention and expiration purposes. Coordinators will execute the established strategy when it comes to membership and product questions, renewals, invoices, database updates, reports and other important administrative duties. They have the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and are professional when communicating with a wide-range of people from different backgrounds. Effective coordinators are also able to accurately and clearly communicate to management members and customers requests or requirements, and offer ideas for achieving these goals.
Volunteer Program Manager
Program Coordinators/Managers work closely with internal staff at an organization to meet the needs and functions for future volunteers and design programming in conjunction with staff to recruit, screen and retain a diverse team. Volunteer programming can range from content development committees and product testers to board members and voting bodies.
Successful Coordinators/Managers are comfortable holding people accountable for their roles and are able to juggle numerous on-going projects and communications at once, as volunteer pools often range from 10 to 500+ individuals. These hyper-organized leaders continuously work with the knowledge that because these groups are not being compensated for their time, communicating realistic expectations and timelines to all parties is essential for success.
